AWARDS
HOUSEBUILDER River Oaks has been voted one of the UK's best building
companies in a national awards scheme.
The Brighton-based firm has received a Bronze award in the Best
Small Housebuilder category in the What House? Awards 2000, sponsored
by The Sunday Times.
Known as the Oscars of the housebuilding industry, the What House?
Awards are the longest established and most prestigious new homes
accolades in the business.
River
Oaks took the honours in the section for companies building fewer
than 100 units a year for its exclusive developments of luxury homes
at Ore Place, Hastings and Beauport Cove, St Leonards on Sea.
The judges said: "This category is designed to reward small
companies combining niche with prestige, while providing value for
money.
"There is a good feel about this Brighton-based housebuilder,
applying family values to a modern outlook. There is a traditional
flavour to the homes - oak beams, tile-hanging - but also a 21st
century flexibility to layout in terms of rooms."
River Oaks won the award after being assessed on every aspect of
performance, including design, product range, build quality, value
for money, marketing, after-sales service and customer care.
This latest accolade follows River Oaks' success in the British
Housebuilder Awards when the company was voted a certificate winner
by its own housebuyers in recognition of quality of service.
Managing
director Ray Charmak said: "As a small company building only
in East Sussex, we are delighted to be recognised in such a prestigious
awards scheme.
"It is a tribute to our philosophy of concentrating on quality
rather than quantity, our use of traditional features, such as solid
timber porches, doors and staircases, plus our emphasis on light,
height, space and quality at affordable prices."
All River Oaks properties come with a NHBC ten-year building warranty.
Ore Place is now all sold. The new 60 property development at Beauport
Cove - set in a sought-after area on high ground away from water
- has homes for sale ranging in price from £249,950 to £317,500,
all offering the ultimate in quality construction and design.
HOADS WOOD
Prowtings PLC currently own the land to the East of Beauport Cove
and their planning application for further new homes has been referred
to a local enquiry. The outcome of this enquiry is still not known,
however, it appears from the plans made available to us that all
our homes in Beachy Head View, with gardens facing East, will continue
to enjoy the view of Hoads Wood, an ancient woodland. A Section
106 Agreement plan between Prowtings and Hastings Borough Council
is available for inspection at our Sales Centre, which shows the
retention of woodland to a depth ranging from 30 to 80 metres.
